Jaya's secretary, security officer appear before probe panel

The Justice A Arumughaswamy Commission of Inquiry, looking into the death of former Chief Minister Jayalalithaa, on Tuesday examined her personal assistant S Poongundran.

Jayalalithaa’s personal security officer Perumalsamy too entered the building. He spent about 10 minutes there and left without interacting with the journalists.

Jailed AIADMK leader V K Sasikala's niece Krishnapriya, two government doctors and Poongundran, who had served as an aide to the late chief minister, were issued summons recently.

The panel headed by retired high court judge A Arumughaswamy had last week issued summons to Sasikala, close confidant of, and Apollo Hospitals Chairman Prathap C Reddy seeking information about the hospitalisation and treatment provided to her.

Poongundran has been asked to immediately furnish information related to the employees of the late leader’s Poes Garden household and their contact details, sources said,

Meanwhile, accepting a request from expelled AIADMK leader V K Sasikala, the one man inquiry commission probing the death of former chief minister J Jayalalithaa is inclined to provide her with the details of evidence against her and a list of witnesses.
