Sangamithra not dropped: Sundar

Amid reports that his magnum opus Sangamithra was dropped, director Sundar C has said the project is very much on.

Speaking to reporters at a press meet organised for Kalakalappu 2, his other film, Sundar said that a film like Sangamithra requires proper storyboard and asset creation before starting the shoot.

"A film of that grandness and scale needs a perfect planning and our team has been working on the pre-production for the past one year," he said.

"For Kalakalappu 2 kind of films, we can immediately roll on after completing the script. But it is not the case for movies like Sangamithra," he added.

Sundar further said that the shooting is expected to start from April or May, this year. "The shooting is comparatively easy for Sangamithra than the pre-production," he said.

"For Sangamithra, the graphics work has already been started and keeping the digital images as reference, we would to shoot," he said.

Jayam Ravi, Arya and Disha Patani play lead roles in Sangamithra, which will have musical score by A R Rahman.
