Possessing an inherent quality of being voracious admirer of literary works, filmmaker-writer-producer Vetrimaaran has always desired translating the best into celluloid. He has now cherry picked one of the most popular and stunningly realistic novel ‘Thariyudan’ authored by Bharathinathan. The novel is being adapted into movie titled as ‘Sanga Thalaivan’, which will be bankrolled by Vetrimaaran under the banner GRASSROOT FILM COMPANY. His long time associate Manimaran will be helming this project, which features Samuthirakani, Karunaas, Aram fame Sunulakshmi and Vijay TV fame Ramya in important roles. The shooting of this film will be commencing from January 22.
Bharathinathan’s ‘Thariyudan’ is a critically acclaimed novel, which deals with the novelist’s own experiences based on the key industries across westerns districts of Tamil Nadu – Salem, Coimbatore and Erode. It delves deep into the issues involving the key industries of this region.
