Oscar-Grammy winner AR Rahman is on board for Vijay's 62nd movie. For the last few weeks, Rahman and director A R Murugadoss had a series of discussions and the big news is that the Academy Award-winning music composer signed on the dotted line.
The film will be bankrolled by Sun Pictures, who are making a comeback to production after a hiatus. The genre of the project remains a mystery.
It needs to be seen whether it will be another action entertainer along the lines of Murugadoss’s previous outings with Vijay- Thupakki and Kathi.
The pre-production works are happening on full swing and shoot is expected to commence by end of this month. Talks are going on with leading heroines of Bollywood and south industry to play the female lead character.
The other important members of Thalapathy 62's technical team are cinematographer Girish Gangadharan of Kali fame, multiple award winning Editor Sreekar Prasad and art director Santhanam.
Following the debacle of Spyder, Murugadoss is under tremendous pressure to deliver a blockbuster with Thalapathy 62. The project is slated to go on the floors from later this month or from early February.
