The showers are back. After a gap of nearly two months, rains are back in Chennai and other parts of Tamil Nadu.
Met officials have said that showers have occured because of low pressure and there are chances of raining in many parts of the state in the next 24 hours.
Tamil Nadu witnessed widespread light to moderate rains in the last 24 hours. In fact, Chennai rains also made a comeback, though the intensity of rain was light.
Both Minambakkam and Nungambakkam observatories of Chennai recorded rain to the tune of 1 mm each. In the similar time frame, Vellore witnessed moderate rain to the tune of 32.8 mm, Tiruttani 21 mm, Salem 12.4 mm and Kodaikanal 10.8 mm.
Meanwhile, the Sri Lankan Navy on Thursday apprehended seven Indian fishermen along with one boat at the Palk Bay near the Delft island. The fishermen have been taken to Kankesanthurai naval camp for interrogation.
