Now, Kamal plans a mega meet in Tiruchy

Kamal Haasan, who launched his political outfit amid rousing crowd in Madurai, has confirmed that his party, 'Makkal Neethi Maiam' has been registered with the Election Commission.

Kamal also said that a meeting will be held on Trichy on 4 April.

He said he held a "secret" meeting with his contemporary and friend Rajinikanth about his entry into politics and decided to maintain dignity even if they became rivals later.

"Shall we meet secretively I asked... we later sat inside a car and discussed. I spoke about the decisions I had made," Kamal said.

He also opposed "saffronisation," saying all sections of people should be given space and respect.

Using the national flag as a symbol to convey his political message, the actor rejected suggestions that he was denigrating the Hindu right wing ideology.

Meanwhile, Shruti Haasan tweeted: “Wishing my dear father all the success on his first step of a million more toward change and political reform - to quote your favorite Mahatma Gandhi “be the change you wish to see in the world “ I’m certain your determination and perseverance toward truth and justice we have witnessed in our family, will now be seen by everyone in our wonderful home of Tamil Nadu."
