Sivakarthikeyan's Velaikkaran opts out of Ayudha Pooja race

It seems Sivakarthikeyan's much awaited Velaikkaran, which was expected to hit the screens during Saraswathi Pooja, has opted out of the race.

Instead, Nayanthara starrer Aramm and Santhanam's heroic venture Server Sundaram would hit the screens that weekend, sources said.

This apart, Susi Ganesan’s Thiruttu Payale 2, Gautham Karthik’s Hara Hara Mahadeviki, GV Prakash's Semma and Jai’s Balloon are competing to get enough screens on Aayudha Pooja day.

According to sources, Velaikkaran, directed by Mohan Raja of Thani Oruvan fame, will not be releasing on September 29 due to the delay in post production.

Sivakarthikeyan, who is currently waiting for the release of Velaikaaran directed by Mohan Raja, is also shooting for his next film with Ponram.

In the meantime, he has signed to do a film with director Vignesh Shivan of Naanum Rowdy Dhaan fame, who is at present helming Suriya starrer Thaana Serndha Koottam.
