Superstar Rajinikanth on Friday said he extended 'full support' to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Swachhata Hi Seva' mission.
He posted on Twitter: "I extend my full support to our hon Prime Minister @narendramodi ji’s #SwachhataHiSeva mission. Cleanliness is godliness."
Earlier this week, Modi had written personal letters to celebrities, industrialists and noted personalities to enlist their support for the initiative. Quoting Mahatma Gandhi, Modi said Swachhata is for each of us to practice.
He also said the days leading up to Gandhi Jayanti on October 2 be about "encouraging widespread participation in cleanliness initiatives across the country."
Meanwhile, Rajini has been hinting for some time that he might join politics. His tweet comes a day after actor Kamal Haasan met with Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in New Delhi, amid speculation that he, too, might join politics.
The actor had said in May, “If it’s God’s will, I will join politics.”
He had also asked his followers to be ready for war, adding that the "system is rotten" and needs to be changed.
Kamal Haasan was invited by Kejriwal to join politics to fight corruption and communalism. Kamal had said earlier that he would be willing to work with Rajinikanth if the superstar ever decided to enter politics.
