Happy with the feedback and collections of Thupparivalan, Vishal has started shooting for Sandakozhi 2, directed by N Lingusamy.
Shooting started on Wednesday in Chennai and a grand set has been erected for the purpose. Plans are on to release the film for Pongal, say sources.

To be produced by Vishal Film Factory, Sandakozhi 2 also has an ensemble of actors Rajkiran, Keerthy Suresh, Meera Jasmine and Varalakshmi Sarathkumar.
According to sources, Varalakshmi’s role will have a lot of negative shades in the film that her character is said to be very crucial.
Yuvan Shankar Raja has been roped in to compose music for the film and Shakti of Ivan Vera Mathiri fame will be handling the cinematography department.
The Run and Anandam maker added: , "Sandakozhi 2 is a sequel to the first film in the sense that this one will also deal with a father-son bond."
