Shah Rukh to remake Vikram Vedha?

Amid a buzz that Shah Rukh Khan, the Bollywood top star, would remake recent Kollywood blockbuster 'Vikram Vedha', film's producer Y Not Studios has denied any such development.

"We have not sold the remake rights of VikramVedha in any language. We have plans of producing it ourselves. Official announcement soon. Tx," said a tweet.

Sources say that several offers from Tollywood and Bollywood are pouring in to buy the remake rights of the film but the producer of Vikram Vedha want to jointly produce the film and they are looking for partners, who share a similar wavelength.

Vikram Vedha is written and directed by Pushkar and Gayathri and produced by Y NOT Studios. The film features R. Madhavan and Vijay Sethupathi in the title roles of an earnest police officer and a notorious don from North Chennai respectively.

The cast also includes Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Shraddha Srinath and Kathir in significant roles. Based on the Indian meta-folktale Baital Pachisi (Vedhala Kadhai in Tamil), the film tells the story of a tough police officer who sets out to track down and kill an equally tough gangster.

Vikram Vedha was released following brief delays on 21 July 2017 and received positive reviews from critics, with praise directed towards the film's script and the performances of the lead actors Madhavan and Vijay Sethupathi.

The film performed well at the box office and became the second highest-grossing Tamil film of the year upon release.
