AIADMK GC expels Sasi, TN cops visit Kodagu, DMK moves HC

Tuesday was a day of back to back developments in Tamil Nadu politics. The ruling AIADMK, on Tuesday, cancelled the appointment of jailed V K Sasikala as party General Secretary. The appointment of her nephew T T V Dinakaran as Deputy General Secretary also stands cancelled.



All powers have been given to deputy chief minister O Panneerselvam and chief minister Edappadi K Palaniswami, the coordinator and joint coordinator of the party, respectively.



Speaking at the general council, the CM said, "even 1000 Dhinakarans can not shake the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam."



While Panneerselvam said that the unified party should work to fulfil the dreams of late CM Jayalaithaa and it would be the best tribute for her. Meanwhile, Dhinakaran supporters burnt effigies of OPS and EPS for outsting Sasikala and TTV.



Speaking to reporters in Madurai, Dhinakaran said the decisions at the GC were unlawful and the government would fall soon.



Meanwhile, DMK working president and leader of opposition in Tamil Nadu Assembly, M K Stalin, on Tuesday filed a petition in the Madras high court, seeking a direction for floor test to prove the majority of Palaniswami.



In the meantime, a Tamil Nadu Police team on Thursday visited a resort in Kodagu district of Karnataka where MLAs supporting Dhinakaran are staying and reportedly conducted inquiries.
