Vishal's Thupparivaalan directed by Mysskin has grossed over Rs 10 crore in its opening weekend in Tamil Nadu, according to trade reports.
"In the first four days, the film grossed over Rs. 10 crore in Tamil Nadu. Despite releasing on a Thursday, the film has struck gold at the box-office," reports said.
Meanwhile, director Shankar has appreciated the film and the team behind it.
"Thupparivalan-an engaging thriller with Mysskin's unique style. Vishal's characterization n performance is good. Cheers to the whole team," Shankar tweeted.
Thupparivaalan has also got positive reviews from leading critics and the favorable word of mouth helped the film in getting Vishal’s career-best opening in Tamil Nadu.
Recently, director Lingusamy tweeted: "Thupparivaalan #Mysskin at his best & finest from @VffVishal. Keeps us engaging throughout. Wonderful film Congrats team @Prasanna_actor".
A racy investigative thriller, Thupparivaalan has no songs and the basic characters in the film are based on Sherlock Holmes.
