Ajith undergoes surgery, advised rest

Ajith, who sustained injury while shooting for his recent release Vivegam in a foreign location, underwent a surgery on his shoulder at a private hospital in Chennai.

"He underwent a surgery for the shoulder injury he suffered while shooting for Vivegam. He is advised 45 days rest," sources said.

His latest surgery will again have the actor go on a month-long break before he starts work on his next film.

It may be recalled that in November 2015, the actor underwent a knee surgery following which, he had to ensure complete rest for three months. This injury took place during the shoot of the climax sequence of Vedalam, also directed by Siva.

Reports also suggest that Sathya Jyothi Films, which produced Vivegam, may finance the next Ajith-Siva film.

Ajith participated in the 2004 British Formula 3 season as a Formula Two racing driver where he was ranked the third best motor car driver.

Vivegam, that released on August 24 to an overwhelming response from the audience all over the world, seems unstoppable at the box office. Ajith Kumar starrer Vivegam crossed Rs 160 crore mark on Friday, according to trade analyst Sumit Kadel
