National Awards For Rahman, Sridevi, Yesudas, Baahubali

The 65th National Film Awards were announced today with Bollywood film Newton emerging as the Best Hindi Film and music maestro AR Rahman emerging as the biggest winner.



Sridevi, who drowned in a Dubai hotel bathroom in February, won her first National Award for Best Actress for her performance in Mom, the revenge thriller.



Rahman has been honoured with two prestigious National Awards for the year 2018. He bagged the Best Music Director award for Kaatru Veliyidai directed by Mani Ratnam and also won the Best Background Score award for the film Mom starring the late Sridevi.



Actor Riddhi Sen won the Best Actor award for Bengali film Nagarkirtan. Malayalam Film, Bhayanakam won the awards for Best Direction (Jayaraj) and Best Adaptive Screenplay (Jayaraj.)



Baahubali: The Conclusion won many awards including the best popular film providing wholesome entertainment. The 10-member jury was headed by filmmaker Shekhar Kapur.



The award ceremony for the 65th National Film Awards will be held on May 3, 2018. The National Film Awards will be presented by President Ram Nath Kovind.
