With videos and photos of Kannadigas giving water to Tamils storming social media, those who criticised Simbu initially for his request have turned silent.
Also, appreciations are pouring in for his effort. One Chandrakanth from Karnataka tweeted, “Dear tamilians we are like brothers one nation that is India but the bloody politicians divide us .we are not selfish people to use whole water, pls understand our situation also .we also give water to you after our consumption.#UniteForHumanity .from ಮಂಡ್ಯ.”.
Another youth Ajay Abraham from Karnataka tweeted, “Dear Simbu, We respect your words and appreciate your good cause! We are always with you!Love from Karnataka & Kannadigas!”.
One Venky tweeted: "“My son Amith Balaji giving one Glass water to simbu from chitradurg Karnataka #UniteForHumanity."
Tamil Nadu has been tense following protests over formation of the Cauvery Management Board, and the controversial Sterlite copper smelting plant in Thoothukudi. Several political parties and film personalities have given voice already.
