Gautham Menon injured in road accident

Director Gautham Vasudev Menon met with an accident while he was travelling from Mahabalipuram to Chennai. His car collided with a tipper lorry on Rajiv Gandhi IT Highway near Semmencherry.



While Gautham Vasudev Menon escaped the incident with minor injuries, the car was smashed beyond recognition.



Reports also suggested that the lorry and Gautham’s had a head-on collision, leaving the front of the car completely damaged.



While a case has been registered with the Guindy traffic police and further details are awaited, the police have confirmed that Gautham Menon was not under the influence of alcohol while driving and neither was he speeding.



Gautham Vasudev Menon, or GVM, as he is popularly called, is known for films like Kaakha Kaakha (2003), Vaaranam Aayiram (2008) and Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa (2010). He has also directed Bollywood films like Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein (2001) and Ekk Deewana Tha (2012).



Taking to Twitter, Gautham posted: "Humbled by the concern and the wishes. A life altering experience. I’m fine and waiting to start filming. Thank you, especially to Gopalkrishnan from HCL whose kindness last night to me reinstated my faith in people."
