'BJP's victory will continue in TN too'
BJP state unit president Tamilisai Soundararajan has said the party's victory in Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh Assembly elections will continue in Tamil Nadu also.
Celebrating the victory of BJP with sweets at the party's state headquarters Kamalayalam in Chennai, Tamilisai said, "BJP has retained power in Gujarat, a state where it has ruled for over 20 years. The people of the country are happy with the results".
She added: "When we abolished the Rs 1000 and Rs 500 denominations, certain factions from the opposition said that the BJP will also be abolished similarly. But, the BJP has only risen further up after demonetisation."
"We are two times the force that we were before the elections. The people have welcomed Prime Minister Modi's plans and the changes that he has brought. These type of positive changes will also happen in politics very soon," she said.
DMK working president M K Stalin said the poll outcome definitely would not have any impact in Tamil Nadu. "The outcome of the results in these two states clearly showed that all the secular forces should unite together to protect the pluralism of the country and the democracy".
He also congratulated the BJP for winning the Assembly polls in the two states. Tamil Nadu Congress president S Thirunavukkarasar said there were more gains for
Congress in Gujarat.
