Popular TV anchor Dhivyadarshini aka DD has filed for divorce at the family court in Chennai.
According to sources, she married her close friend Srikanth Ravichandran in 2014 but there has always been a difference of opinion between the couple since then.
They were friends for six years, after which their parents suggested the idea of their marriage. It is learnt that Srikanth’s family is not happy with Dhivyadarshini’s sudden decision to act in movies, which is one of the major reasons for the separation.
The couple has filed for a divorce by mutual consent. As per the regulations, the married couple will be given six months' cooling period, in case they want to re-think their decision.
She has hosted several shows on a television channel, which include Jodi Number One and Super Singer T20. She hit the limelight with her show Koffee with DD which was a candid chat with celebrities.
After her wedding, Dhivyadharshini played a cameo in Dhanush’s directorial film Pa Paandi. She is also expected to be seen in a pivotal role in Vikram-Gautham Vasudev Menon’s upcoming spy thriller Dhruva Natchathiram.
