Huge money flow in RK Nagar: Complaints galore from DMK, AIADMK, BJP & TTV group

Following allegations of cash distribution and clashes between cadres of political parties in RK Nagar, officials have intensified surveillance, forming 21 additional teams for increasing the number of flying squads and static surveillance team.

While the DMK, BJP and rebel AIADMK led by TTV Dhinakaran accused the ruling party of indulging in malpractices, AIADMK said the DMK and Dhinakaran group were trying to harm its image.

Ruling AIADMK led by Chief Minister K Palaniswami and DMK are locked in a fierce contest in the RK Nagar Assembly constituency, which goes to the bypoll on December 21 amid charges of cash distribution for votes.

DMK is going all out to wrest the seat from its arch rival after over two decades, with party working chief M K Stalin addressing a series of meetings.

Stalin alleged that the ruling AIADMK has distributed crores of rupees as bribe among the voters in RK Nagar ahead of the assembly bypoll on December 21.

In the highest-ever deployment of Central observers for an election in one constituency, the Election Commission of India on Friday named Indian Revenue Service officers Vikram Batra and Manvendra Goyal as Special Officer and Expenditure Observer respectively for the byelection.
