No piracy of 'Balloon', HC warns websites, ISPs

The Madras High Court on Friday restrained 37 websites and internet service providers from uploading the pirated copy of Tamil film ‘Balloon’, set to release on December 29.

Justice M Sundar allowed the interim prayer related to a civil suit filed by the film’s producers ’70 MM Entertainment’ and adjourned the matter.

Balloon is a horror thriller film written and directed by Sinish and produced by Dhilip Subbarayan, Arun Balaji and Nandakumar.

The film stars Jai, Anjali and Janani Iyer in the leading roles. Featuring music composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja, the film began production during June 2016, and will be released soon.

The trailer of the upcoming film Balloon, starring Jai and Anjali as the lead pair, is going viral ever since its release.

Right from the time the trailer has been out, there have been talks that Balloon could have been inspired from the Hollywood movie It, which was an adaptation of Stephen King’s popular novel by the same name.

Debutant director Sinish said that he watched twenty to thirty Hollywood films to prepare the script of Balloon.

“There are directors who make films based on Mounaragam and say that they never saw the film. I’ve mentioned the list of films which inspired me to make Balloon in the opening credits”, said he.
