Actor Karthi, who was shooting in Tenkasi for a new film directed by Pandiraj, visited the grave of Periyapandian, the Inspector of Police who was shot dead at by robbers in Rajasthan, and paid his respects.
The actor, who played a character similar to Periyapandian in his recent release Theeran Adhigaram Ondru, visited Periyapandian’s native village Saalai Puthur and consoled the inspector’s wife.
He said, "Periyapandian’s wife told me that she saw Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru on the same day when her husband went to Rajasthan to arrest the burglar group."
He added: "She was shocked by the deadly dacoits portrayed in the film and told her husband to be safe."
He further said: "Periyapandian is a good soul, he has donated his land to construct a school for his native village. People in Saalai Puthur requests the Government to name the school after Periyapandian’s name.
I personally feel that Government should improve the infrastructure of the police department. My prayers and condolences to the brave cop’s family."
"It’s an urgent situation where the government must give essential support to police during tasks," he concluded.
