RK Nagar heat intensifies: CM slams rivals, Stalin-Vaiko share stage, TTV meets CEO

With little more than a week left for the December 21 by-election in RK Nagar, campaigning is gaining momentum.

Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami on Monday took a dig at rival parties over 'dynasty politics' saying unlike them the ruling AIADMK offered scope for hardworking grassroots workers to rise in the ranks.

DMK working president M K Stalin, MDMK general secretary Vaiko and others sharged the stage at a campaign meeting.

Vaiko, who appeared on the DMK dais after a gap of 13 years, predicted, that the victory of DMK candidate Marudu Ganesh in R.K. Nagar would herald the party’s ascension of power in the State.

"R.K. Nagar will lay the foundation and Marudu Ganesh’s victory will be the beginning of DMK’s ascension to power. Nothing will prevent DMK’s leader M.K. Stalin becoming the Chief Minister," he said.

Meanwhile, expelled AIADMK deputy general secretary TTV Dhinakaran, who is contesting as independent in RK Nagar by-poll, on Monday called on Tamil Nadu chief electoral officer Rajesh Lakhoni and complained against some police officials and office-bearers of the ruling party.
