Sundar C, Shruti, Sangamithra

Shruti Haasan has reportedly signed the dotted line to play the female lead in Sundar C’s big budget Sangamithra.

To be produced by Sri Thenandal Films, AR Rahman will be composing the music for the film and Sudeep Chatterjee of Bajirao Mastani fame will be cranking the camera.

Actors Jayam Ravi and Arya will play the leads role in the film, which will be shot in a span of 2 years, and will be made in three languages- Tamil, Telugu and Hindi.

It is also rumoured that the film will be costlier than SS Rajamouli's Baahubali and Shankar's 2.0, which is so far the costliest Asian film to be made.

“#SundarC’s magnum opus produced by Sri Thenandal Films titled #Sangamithra wil star @actor_jayamravi, @arya_offl! Music scored by @arrahman!,” tweeted Thendral Films, which is bankrolling the multi-crore film.

Both actors described Sangamitra as their dream project. “Can’t wait to join my buddy love @actor_jayamravi #sundar Sir and @arrahman sir musical (sic) thank you @ThenandalFilms for this dream project(sic),” Arya posted on his Twitter page.
