GV Prakash Kumar, who happened to hear a song sung and uploaded online by a visually challenged woman called Jyothi, immediately reached out to her and offered her a chance to sing a song in his upcoming film, Adangathey.
"Yes this wonderful singing talent Jyothi will be making her debut in my next musical album #adangathey ✨✨ god bless," the music composer turned actor posted on his social media page.
Sources say that GV Prakash has seen Jyothi’s works on Facebook and impressed with her singing ability, the composer made her croon for a special number in Adangathey.
Adangathey is an upcoming Tamil action-thriller film written and directed by Shanmugam Muthusamy, starring G. V. Prakash Kumar and Surabhi in the leading roles, with Sarath Kumar, and Mandira Bedi in supporting roles. The film began production during July 2016.
Sri Green Productions began a new film venture directed by Shanmugam Muthusamy and featuring G. V. Prakash Kumar in the lead role during July 2016.
The team initially announced that Vaibhavi Shandilya would portray the leading female role, but she was later replaced by Surabhi.
Actor Sarath Kumar was also chosen to portray supporting roles, along with Thambi Ramaiah. For his role in the project, Sarath Kumar grew a beard and stated that it would be a "re-entry" for him back into Tamil films after a brief hiatus.
Mandira Bedi was also signed on to appear in the film after the director felt that she could portray a North Indian police officer in the film. He approached her about the role after following her posts on social media and feeling she would be apt for the character.
