Sasikala writes to AIADMK members from jail

AIADMK general secretary Sasikala is constantly in touch with her party cadre despite being inside the jail.

She has written a letter to her party asking them to celebrate late Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalithaa’s birth anniversary on February 24.

Sasikala, in her letter, has stated that a grand celebration conducting public welfare events across the state should take place.

Meanwhile, Sasikala has again applied for ‘better amenities’ in prison.

According to a report in NDTV, Sasikala has claimed that she deserves better facilities owing to her ‘age and poor health’.

The AIADMK chief, lodged in Parappana Agrahara jail, wants a cot, a table fan, a mattress and an attached bathroom, said the report.

The 59-year-old returned to the Central Jail on the city's southern outskirts a week ago to serve a four-year sentence upheld by the Supreme Court after she was held guilty of corruption in a two-decade-old wealth case.
