Tamil Nadu chief minister Edappadi K Palaniswami left for New Delhi on Sunday to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
He will meet Modi and other senior Union ministers to discuss issues relating to the State. This is his first trip to the Capital after taking over as the new chief minister.
During his two-day visit , Palanisami is likely to take up various other issues including exempting Tamil Nadu from NEET.
During his meeting with Modi, Palaniswami is likely to take up various issues, including exempting Tamil Nadu from NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) and seeking funds to address damage caused by cyclone Vardah, among others.
A few senior ministers and bureaucrats are part of Palaniswami’s entourage. They will stay in Delhi for three days.
He would also take up the issue of approving the project design for implementing the Avinashi-Athikadavu project, Kerala’s move to construct check dams across the Bhavani and the constitution of the Cauvery Water Management Board, too.
