Tamilnadu has selected a team comprising experience and youth for the upcoming Vijay Hazare Trophy ODI tournament to be played at Cuttack from February 25.
All-rounder Vijay Shankar, who captained in the Syed Musthaq Ali Trophy T20 tournament recently, will lead the team
Young batsman S Radhakrishnan, who made a mark in the final India-England Under-19 ODI has been handed a spot in the team that also includes exciting young left-arm spinner R Sai Kishore and medium-pace bowling allrounders R Rohit and W Anthony Dhas.
It may be noted that Radhakrishnan had impressed during his knock of 65 against the England under-19 team and earned praise from the India coach Rahul Dravid. High words of praise from the legendary Dravid seem to have made the TN selectors opt for the Coimbatore lad.
Radhakrishnan said he never expected to be picked for the Tamil Nadu side and added that meeting Dravid was an awesome experience.
Team: Vijay Shankar (Captain), K Dinesh Karthik, V Ganga Sridhar Raju, B Indrajith, B Aparajith, M Kaushik Gandhi, N Jagadeesan, A Aswin Crist, M. Mohammed, W Anthony Dhas, R Rohit, Rahil S Shah, M Ashwin, R Sai Kishore, M S Washington Sundar, S Radhakrishnan.
