Crack down on corruption, Afridi tells PCB

Shahid Afridi has said that that until the PCB sets a proper example, the menace of players being linked to spot-fixing and corruption cannot be stopped in Pakistan cricket.

Speaking to Geo Super channel in Dubai during the Pakistan Super League, he said that he was very sad and disappointed after the latest scandal in which Pakistani batsmen Sharjeel Khan and Khalid Latif were flown back under the PCB's Anti-Corruption Code.

"What can I say I have been saying in the past also that until the PCB sets or makes an example of such players it will be difficult to stop this menace," the all-rounder said.

"To me it is the same situation because you are allowing tainted players back into cricket," he said.

Afridi was referring to the way the board dealt with Mohammad Amir, Salman Butt and Mohammad Asif after they were found guilty of spot-fixing in England in 2010. The trio was banned for a minimum of five years, but they all returned to play competitive cricket after serving their punishment.

Recently, Afridi voiced his opinion on Kashmir issue as well but got trolled instead. He urged both the government to maintain peace in the state. He termed Kashmir as 'Heaven on earth'.
