Sasikala stays in resort with MLAs, says ready to face SC verdict

AIADMK general secretary V K Sasikala, who went to the Golden Bay Resort in Koovathur near Chennai and stayed back to keep her flock of MLAs together, said she is ready to face the Supreme Court verdict.

"Whatever be the judgement (in Karnataka's appeal in the disproportionate assets case), we will accept it happily," she said.

Suggesting that O Panneerselvam did not resign on his own, Sasikala on Monday said the Chief Minister was asked to go because he "hobnobbed" with the party's arch rival DMK.

She said she is confident of victory and that peaceful protests would continue for the formation of the next Tamil Nadu government under her.

She had held discussions with her MLAs at the resort on Saturday and Sunday and stressed the need to stay united to form the government.

On February 5, Sasikala was elected as the party's Legislature Leader, a step towards her elevation as Tamil Nadu Chief Minister.
