A 22-year old Finnish woman was found dead in a lodge in Triplicane on Wednesday morning. It is suspected that she died of an overdose.

The woman, Helea Nea Emilia, stayed in the lodge with her boyfriend, Palomaki Aleksi Joel Santeri, who is also from Finland. Police said the woman might have died due to drug overdose.

Santeri allegedly found her lying unconscious in the morning and informed the hotel. An ambulance was called and she was taken to the hospital, where she was declared brought dead.

An investigating official said, "There were no external injuries on her body and we have to wait for the post-mortem report to ascertain the exact cause of death. We have detained her companion and he is being questioned."

The hotel staff said they were drunk when they arrived on Tuesday. According to the police, the two consumed liquor and drugs at the hotel.

The police said the body was swollen and there was no injury on it. They recovered some drugs and pills from the couple's bags. Samples of the drugs were sent to a laboratory for analysis.
