Crucial AIADMK meet tomorrow, EPS-OPS group invites TTV faction

The EPS-OPS faction of the AIADMK has called for a crucial meeting of party office-bearers in Chennai on Tuesday. Those supporting TTV Dhinakaran too have reportedly been invited and they are expected to attend.

Recently, chief minister Edappadi K Palaniswami called for a meeting of AIADMK MLAs at his Greenways Road residence and he met them in batches.

The event was watched keenly as it came just three days after over 30 legislators of the party skipping a key meeting at the party office in Chennai.

Meanwhile, sidelined AIADMK deputy general secretary TTV Dhinakaran on Saturday said that legislators staying in a resort in Puducherry had full freedom and were not under any compulsion to stay there.

Speaking to reporters at the Windflower Resort and Spa in Chinna Veerampattinam, he said, “Our legislators here enjoy full freedom and do not face any restriction. The State needs a good leadership and hence these MLAs are here. No one has made them to stay here compulsorily.”

Meanwhile, reports said there is also a big question mark over the fate of the September 12 general council meeting, convened to remove V K Sasikala from the GS post.

It is said Dhinakaran camp is planning to move court to obtain a stay on the general council as only the general secretary - V K Sasikala - had powers to convene the general council meet.
