‘Kaali’ crosses the finishing line at a monstrous pace!

‘Kaali’ starring Vijay Antony and directed by Kiruthiga Udhayanidhi is one of the most awaited projects of this year. The shooting of this action drama was happening at a rapid pace and has been successfully wrapped up , thanks to the meticulous planning and execution of the team headed by the director Kiruthiga Udhayanidhi. With her efficiency and work pace she has once again proven to a producer’s blessing. The post production work of ‘Kaali’ has begun and aims to finish it soon.

‘Kaali’ is produced by ‘Vijay Antony Film Corporation ‘. The movie stars Anjali, Sunaina, Shilpa Manjunath and Amritha playing the female lead. Actors Yogi Babu, R K Suresh, Madhusudan and Jaya Prakash have played important supporting character roles in ‘Kaali’.

‘Mr.Chandramouli’ gets a release date!

‘Mr.Chandramouli’ staring Karthik, Gautham karthik, Regina Cassandra and Varalakshmi Sarathkumar is directed by Thiru. This marks the first outing of father-son duo of Karthi and Gautham Karthik together on screen.

The shooting of ‘Mr.Chandramouli’ is progressing at a very fast pace and it has now been announced that the movie will be releasing on April 27th. The ‘Mr.Chandramouli’ team recently shot an important boxing fight sequence involving Gautham Karthik. Apparently the team shot this sequence for 18 hours non stop and the team and fight master ‘Stunt’ Silva was taken aback by Gautham Karthik’s dedication and never dropping energy levels for those 18 hours non stop. This boxing sequence is said to be one of the main highlights of the movie. ‘Mr. Chandramouli’ is nearing the completion and the post production process is set to start soon to facilitate April 27th release.

‘Short’ film talks ‘Big’!

Sarjun, who shot to fame and controversies with his much acclaimed and talked about directorial ‘Lakshmi’ has come up with his next short film titled ‘Maa’ produced by ‘Ondraga Entertainment’. ‘Maa’ talks about how a middle class mother of a 15 year old daughter handles a very delicate situation and guides her daughter out of a crisis. ‘Maa’ has been receiving very positive reviews and social media is abuzz with the talks about it.

Tamilisai denies quitting BJP

BJP state president Tamilisai Soundararajan has denied reports which claimed that she has decided to quit the party, as she was upset with the activities of some leaders.

Talking to reporters, she said, "I strongly deny it. It is a very wrong information. I will remain in the party and continue to serve it till my last breath."

She supported Union Minister of State for Finance and Shipping Pon Radhakrishnan’s assertion that he too is a ‘Pachchai Tamizhan.’

Tamilisai also said that the State cannot progress without the Centre's support. "As the BJP is ruling at the Centre only our party could ensure more development and welfare to TN,” she said.

She claimed that the Dravidian parties in Tamil Nadu created an impression among the people that the BJP is against the Tamils.

"We are not inferior to them in any way. We have been voicing the concerns of the Tamils and striving for the welfare of Tamil Nadu," she said.

Nathuram tells cops where he sold stolen jewels

The Rajamangalam police in the city, who have been granted 10 days custody of S Nathuram and his two other accomplices, the accused in the Kolathur burglary, by a metropolitan magistrate court in Chennai, are grilling them.

Nathuram, and his two accomplices, have confessed to having sold the gold jewellery they had looted in Chennai and Bengaluru, sources said.

"During interrogation, they admitted to having looted the jewellery in Kolathur and sold the pieces to a few people in the city and Bengaluru. They are being taken to places where they sold the gold. We are recovering the stolen property from them," officials were quoted as saying.

A magistrate court on Tuesday granted police 10-day custody of Nathuram Jat, the prime accused in the Kolathur pawn shop heist, and two others.

The magistrate also permitted police to take the suspects to Bengaluru and Rajasthan during the probe. Jat's father and three others, who were picked up in Rajasthan in November last year, were, however, released on bail.

The XIII Metropolitan Magistrate S Gopinath granted the 10-day police custody of and directed the Rajamangalam police to produce them before the court again on February 9.

Amala Paul alleges sexual harassment, bizman arrested

Amala Paul has alleged that a man sexually harassed her at the workplace. Reporting the incident to the T Nagar police station in Chennai, Amala Paul alleged that a man had made sexual advances at her while she was at rehearsals for an upcoming show which will take place in Malaysia.

The Mambalam police arrested the 40-year-old man after Amala Paul preferred complaint of sexual harassment against him, on Wednesday.

Amala Paul visited the Mambalam police station and registered a complaint. She said she was taking part in a dance rehearsal in a studio in T. Nagar for an event to be held in Malaysia to promote women’s empowerment.

While she was practising, there stranger approached her and made an inappropriate remark. “I was shocked and humiliated. I am an independent working woman. It looked as if he was acting on behalf of someone at the place. I felt extremely unsafe,” she told police.

The businessman identified as Alagesan from Kottivakkam on the outskirts of Chennai was arrested by West Mambalam police based on complaint by the actress.

“I was shocked at his behaviour and I felt humiliated. He spoke to me in a lewd manner and passed remarks about me. I thought it was imperative on my part to complain to the police since I am an independent working woman,” Amala Paul told reporters.

Madura Veeran will be an enlightening experience about Jallikattu: Shanmuga Pandian

Ennobled as the tallest and herculean kind of actor in Tamil cinema, Shanmuga Pandian has kept everyone’s expectation involving his upcoming film ‘Madura Veeran’. Much more than carrying the acclaimed lineage of Captain Vijayakanth, Shanmuga Pandian has carved a niche with his excellent efforts to create a brand of his unique style.

So what made him choose ‘Madura Veeran’ at the earnest level? Ask him and he replies, “Of course, Jallikattu happens to be the main reason behind taking up Madura Veeran. We have come across many Tamil movies that have touched the concept of ‘Jallikattu’, but to a limited extent. It would be either confined to the first half or a particular sequence, but Madura Veeran is completely about Jallikattu from beginning till end. Yes, there are entertainment elements in the film, but it doesn’t cross this domain anywhere.”

He puts up an additional justification claiming, “Youngsters came to know about the cultural heritage of Jallikattu during last year of protest. This movie will furthermore enlighten them to know more about it.”

Inclined to an urban lifestyle from childhood, it should have been definitely difficult for him to adapt a rural man, isn’t it? But Shanmuga Pandian quashes our assumptions saying, “Although I was born and brought up in city, I have travelled a lot to villages right from my childhood along with my parents and by myself. In an incisive note, there is no big deal of difference between urban and rural areas. Well, you would see lots of farm lands out here in villages and in contrast, more buildings across cities. Adapting to village lifestyle for this film wasn’t a big challenge. I have been familiar with Madurai Tamil dialect as I used to speak to my family from childhood in this slang. But since, I play a guy returning from foreign, my role demanded for a normal Tamil slang.”

Jallikattu having become an unforgettable event in the pages of world history, does Madura Veeran deal with real life incidents or a fictional take? “Madura Veeran has its core concept of Jallikattu and it focuses on its issues in the village. It doesn’t fall into the category of based on true incidents, but it has some moments that happened in village that actually created threatening situation to Jallikattu.”

On working with cinematographer turned filmmaker P.G. Muthaiah, Shanmuga Pandian adds, “Every upcoming actor or even the one in top league would desire to work with highly ranked directors. But these days, we are blatantly witnessing the arrival of new filmmakers, who are creating a renaissance in Tamil industry. End of the day, it’s all about the ‘CONTENT’ that really concerns. P.G. Muthaiah sir has exactly translated the script he narrated to my father into beautiful visual output now.”

Sharing few words about his co-star Meenakshi, he says, “Despites the fact that Madura Veeran happens to be her debut film, she was so much expressive and was fluent with Tamil dialogues.”

Getting to brief about his working experience with Samuthirakani, Shanmugha Pandian tots up saying, “He is more like an uncle to me and has treated me with such bonding right from my childhood. Samuthirakani sir was so much helpful and supportive throughout the shoot. He educated us more on Jallikattu and some of them have been used as dialogues in the film as well.”

TN CM Palaniswami to meet K'taka CM Siddaramaiah over Cauvery issue

The Tamil Nadu government on Tuesday said chief minister Edappadi K Palaniswami is keen to meet his Karnataka counterpart Siddaramaiah to discuss the Cauvery river water issue.

A delegation of ministers from Tamil Nadu, led by Palaniswami, plan to meet Siddaramaiah over releasing the state’s share of Cauvery water to ‘save’ samba paddy crop, an official release said.

A meeting, attended by deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam, among others, decided that a delegation of ministers from the Cauvery delta districts plan to meet Siddaramaiah and take up the issue.

The Karnataka CM, who had to tell the neighbouring state last year that releasing even the allocated water would be tough due to a weak monsoon, is undecided.

Palaniswami, in the second week of January, wrote to Siddaramaiah stating that there was deficit realisation in the State’s share of Cauvery water to an amount of 68.22 tmcft this year. He sought release of at least 15 tmcft to save samba crop.

Meanwhile, reiterating that Karnataka had not violated any law in connection with the Mahadayi basin, Siddaramaiah said the State has not taken up any work in the basin.

Thanks to bus fare hike, Railway earns Rs 2 crore more

Data from Chennai division of Southern Railway shows that there has been a jump in the number of passengers buying monthly season tickets, which shows that people have made a long-term switch from buses to railways, thanks to the recent bus fare hike.

The Southern Railway said that it has made Rs 2 additional revenue in the past one week, as more number of people are using its services after bus fares were increased in Tamil Nadu.

Data given by Railways shows that there has been an increase of 7.95 lakh passengers in the January 20- January 26 period as compared to the seven-day period in the preceeding year, which corresponds to an additional revenue of Rs 1.96 crore as compared to 2017.

A total of 2.06 lakh more bookings were made through ATVMs generating a revenue of Rs 31 lakh more than the same period in 2017. Recently, the Tamil Nadu government increased ticket rates of buses, a move which met stiff opposition from political parties and public.

The DMK-led opposition on Monday held protests across Tamil Nadu to demand a full rollback of the recent bus fare hike, with police detaining DMK's M K Stalin and MDMK's Vaiko for blocking roads in the capital.

Reacting to the protests, Chief Minister K Palaniswami said it was done to pressure, the government.

Palaniswami blamed the opposition DMK for the financial woes of the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC) and appealed to the public to understand the circumstances that led to the recent hike in bus fares.

Viswasam to have north Chennai backdrop, shoot from Feb 22

The shoot of Thala Ajith’s Viswasam will start rolling from February 22, sources in the know say.

The final draft of the script is progressing at a brisk pace and the makers are planning to wrap up the shoot in July. As of now, Sathya Jyothi Films, producers of the film are confident about Deepavali release plans.

"The story will have North Chennai backdrop and the makers hope to finish the entire shooting by maximum July or August,” sources said.

To be produced by Sathya Jyothi Films, the film will see Ajith going back to sporting black hair, after popularizing the salt-and-pepper look in all three previous collaborations with Siva.

The project marks the fourth consecutive collaboration between Ajith and Siva. While many believed that after the debacle of Vivegam, Ajith and Siva might take a break and work on a different combination, they’ve reunited for this project.

There were also rumours that Ajith might team up with Vikram Vedha director duo Pushkar-Gayatri next. However, director Pushkar clarified that they’re still scripting their next project and were pleasantly surprised to hear rumours about their collaboration with Ajith.

Why Suriya visited Karthi on shooting spot?

Many of know that Suriya is producing his brother Karthi’s upcoming film Kadai Kutty Singam under the banner 2D Entertainment.

Along with his son Dev, Suriya visited the sets of the movie, when a rekla race sequence was being shot.

Uploading a picture of him with his son, Suriya posted: "Revisited some beautiful childhood memories with Dev... #Rekla #KKS #KadaiKuttySingam #Nostalgia #Culture."

He also posted a video and wrote, “Shooting spot..! #Rekla #KKS #KadaiKuttySingam #Nostalgia #Culture.” In the picture, his son is watching the rekla race, which is considered to be a 100-year-old traditional sport.

Director Pandiraj is shooting for the film in Karaikudi, and the team will be present there for about 15 days. While he revealed the Tamil and Telugu titles of the film on Pongal, the director shot the rekla sequence recently.

Meanwhile, after completing a brief schedule in Chennai, team Suriya 36 will kick-start the second schedule in Thanjavur.

The entire team including the film’s two heroines—Sai Pallavi and Rakul Preet Singh are expected to be present in the new schedule, which will commence by the third week of February.

Youth throws footwear at Tamannah

Tamannah, who was in Hyderabad recently to launch a jewellery store, had a shoe hurled at her by her fie-hard fan while coming out of the store.

However, the shoe missed the target and hit an employee of the jewellery store, Tamannaah was shocked by the behaviour of the person.

Sources say Khareemulla, the angry fan, tried to attack the actress because she is not doing more Telugu films. Local cops filed a case against Khareemulla and a proper action will be taken against him.

In the investigation the B Tech graduate, had revealed that the reason behind his act was because of Tamannaah's brief hiatus at Tollywood.

Amala Paul arrested in tax evasion case

In view of serious discrepancies in her earlier statements regarding vehicle tax evasion, Amala Paul was once again interrogated by the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the Crime Branch.

She was arrested on Sunday in a tax evasion case for allegedly buying a luxury car in Pondicherry by producing forged documents.

However, the actress was immediately released on conditional bail but she must co-operate for the investigation when summoned.

She was summoned by the EOW for clarity in a statement that the actor had given earlier regarding the case.

According to the officials, Amala is sticking to her earlier statement in a petition that she filed, that the Mercedes Benz of registration number PY-05-D-0500, was registered at Puducherry and she had rented a home there

According to reports, an investigation by crime branch revealed that the documents furnished by Amala were forged. Following which, she was summoned by the Economic Offenses Wing (EOW) of the crime branch on Saturday, in Kochi, to clarify her stance on the statement she had recorded earlier.

HC blasts Nithyananda, orders his arrest

The Madras high court on Monday directed the police to arrest Swami Nithyananda and produce him before it on Wednesday.

The HC also warned one of his disciples that the self-style godman's ashram would get vanished.

Justice R Mahadevan made the observation while hearing a plea moved by M Jagathalapradhapan of Madurai seeking a direction to the government to take suitable and appropriate action against Nithyananda and protect the Madurai mutt. He also wanted the court to permanently prevent Nithyananda from interfering in the affairs of the mutt.

The judge made the angry observation after finding that Nityananda had failed to rectify “misleading statements” in affidavits submitted to court, despite multiple warnings.

"He is not above all, only law prevails over anything in this court. Get the warrant from the court registry and arrest him," the judge said to the police personnel present in the court.

The judge warned Nithyananda to file a fresh petition with the truth in two days or face arrest for attempting to misdirect the court. He further warned him that he will shut down all his ashrams.

Oppn to intensify protests against bus fare hike, CM blames DMK for transport corpn's woes

The DMK-led opposition on Monday held protests across Tamil Nadu to demand a full rollback of the recent bus fare hike, with police detaining DMK's M K Stalin and MDMK's Vaiko for blocking roads in the capital.

Reacting to the protests, Chief Minister K Palaniswami said it was done to pressure, the government.

Palaniswami blamed the opposition DMK for the financial woes of the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC) and appealed to the public to understand the circumstances that led to the recent hike in bus fares.

Speaking to the media, he said that the government had decided to bring down the bus fare hike following protests by the DMK, other opposition parties and the public.

He said that in 2011, the outgoing DMK government had left the TNSTC with a debt of ₹3,392.15 crore, ₹1,528.05 crore as pending dues to the employees and ₹922.24 crore as pending dues to the retired staff. He said that 112 properties of TNSTC were mortgaged.

The DMK warned of intensifying its protests if the revision was not rolled back immediately.

DMK working president and Leader of Opposition in Tamil Nadu Assembly, M K Stalin, demanded that Palaniswami should immediately withdraw the hike or resign.

Jayam Ravi in Baby remake

Jayam Ravi will be teaming up with Endrendrum Punnagai fame director Ahmed. There is a buzz that the movie will be a remake of Neeraj Pandey's 2015 Bollywood action thriller, Baby.

However, Ahmed says, "Not at all. My film with Ravi will be based on an original script. I'm currently working on the script and we will start shooting once it is firmed up."

In Baby, Akshay Kumar played the lead role, while the film also featured Taapsee Pannu and Rana Daggubati in pivotal characters.

Ravi is currently busy with a cop thriller Andanga Maru, which is being directed by newcomer Karthik Thangavel and the actor’s mother-in-law is bankrolling the film. If all goes well, the shoot of his film with Ahmed will go on floors by the end of this year.

While the actor's space thriller Tik Tik Tik is awaiting release, he is likely to start shooting for Sundar C's historical fantasy Sangamithra this summer onwards.

Superstar Rajinikanth on Sunday addressed his fans in Tuticorin via video link. He said the severing the common people without any personal motive will be the primary quality to join hands with him in his political endeavour.

He exhorted students to enter politics and question the status quo. In his interaction with the students, the actor termed the controversy surrounding the film 'Padmaavat' "ridiculous" and expressed concern that he would not be able to make a film like 'Anbe Sivam' (2003) today due to political interference.

"It is time for students to enter politics to clean up the prevailing system," he said. The time had come for future leaders to take up politics, for which they have to be players and not just critics, he said.

Haasan urged students to be more vigilant in order to get to know what was happening around them. Once they learn to understand the plight of others, change would automatically emerge in society, he said.

Illegal arms racket Constable held with country pistol Chennai police team leaves for WB

A Chennai-based police constable was arrested for allegedly possessing an illegal country pistol at a hotel near the central bus stand in Trichy.

The incident, coming less than 24 hours after the Chennai police on Friday morning arrested two men at Thiruvottiyur and seized five pistols and 20 rounds of ammunition, has sent alarm bells ringing among police about a growing gun culture in the state.

Five pistols and fake Indian currency notes with a total face value of around Rs four lakh were seized in Chennai on Friday and two persons arrested in this connection.

The only common link so far is that all the seven guns came from the Jharkhand-Bihar region, while the seizure in Friday's incident of fake ₹2,000 notes, with a face value of ₹4 lakh, added another dimension to the issue.

Meanwhile, a special team attached to the city police has left for West Bengal in connection with smuggling of country guns into the city on Friday.

Police had long believed that the crime scene in Tamil Nadu was under control mainly because guns were never able to penetrate its cities.

Bus Fare Hike Reduced Oppn Dubs It As Eyewash

The Tamil Nadu government on Sunday revised bus fares, reducing them marginally, following protests by opposition parties and public, especially students, over the recent hike.

According to an official release, the revision, which will be to a maximum of Rs one, will come into effect from today.

The DMK described the downward cut in bus fares announced by the government as an eyewash and said it would hold state-wide agitations along with alliance parties across the State today.

"We have decided to go ahead with the planned protests on Monday to force the state government to completely withdraw the steep increase in bus fare. The partial reduction in the hiked bus fare is just eyewash," DMK working president M K Stalin told reporters, at the end of the all party meeting held in the party headquarters.

He also urged the government to release all the students, who were arrested for protesting against the bus fare hike and that all the cases registered against them should be withdrawn.

CPI(M) leader and former MLA A Soundararajan and Tamil Nadu Congress Committee President, Su Thirunavukkarasar were among the leaders who took part in the all-party meeting.

9 ஆவது ஹிந்து ஆன்மிக மற்றும் சேவை கண்காட்சி வேளச்சேரி குருநானக் கல்லூரியில் கடந்த 24 ஆம் தேதி தொடங்கியது. கடந்த நான்கு நாட்களாக நடைபெற்ற கண்காட்சியை லட்சக்கணக்கானோர் பார்த்து ரசித்தனர். ஐந்தாம் நாளான இன்று 28.01.2018 ஞாயிற்றுக்கிழமை தினத்தில் வனம் மற்றும் வன விலங்குகளைப் பாதுகாத்தல் என்ற கருத்தை முன்வைத்து நிகழ்ச்சிகள் நடைபெற்றன.

பள்ளி மாணவ மாணவிகள் விருக்ஷ வந்தனம் மற்றும் நாக வந்தனம் ஆகிய பண்புப் பயிற்சியில் ஈடுபட்டனர். இதனையொட்டி மரங்களையும், வனங்களையும், பேணி பாதுகாக்கும் வகையில் விழிப்புணர்வு நிகழ்ச்சி நடந்தது. இதில் 1,008 தென்னை மர கன்றுகளும், 1,008 நொச்சி செடிகளையும் 1,008 பள்ளி மாணவ – மாணவிகள் பூஜை செய்து வழிப்பட்டனர். இதில் நாக வந்தனம் எனும் பூஜையும் நடத்தப்பட்டது. நிகழ்ச்சிக்கு இந்து ஆன்மிக மற்றும் சேவை அறக்கட்டளை அறங்காவலர் ஆர்.ராஜலட்சுமி. தலைமை தாங்கினார்.

மாநில சுற்றுச்சூழல் தாக்கம் மற்றும் மதிப்பீடு ஆணைய தலைவரும் முன்னாள் தமிழக வனத்துறை உயர் அதிகாரியமான டாக்டர் என்.கிருஷ்ணகுமார் நிகழ்ச்சியை தொடங்கி வைத்தார். அப்போது பேசிய அவர், “நம் நாட்டின் காடுகளின் பரப்பளவு 33 சதவிதம் இருக்க வேண்டும். ஆனால் 23 சதவிதம் தான் உள்ளது. அரசு துறைகளும், சட்டங்களும் மூலம் காடுகளை பாதுகாக்க முடியாது. காடுகளை பாதுகாக்கவும், அதிகரிக்கவும் மாணவர் சமுதாயம் அதிகம் முன் வரவேண்டும்” என்றார்.

இந்த நிகழ்ச்சியில் பெரம்பூர், திருவெற்றியூர் அம்பத்தூர் ஆகிய இடங்களில் உள்ள விவேகானந்த பள்ளி மாணவ – மாணவிகள் வனம் மற்றும் வன விலங்குகளை பாதுகாத்தல் தொடர்பான நாடகங்கள் மற்றும் நாட்டிய நிகழ்ச்சிகளை நடத்தினர். மாணவர்கள் உறுதிமொழி எடுத்து கொண்டதும், அவர்களுக்கு மர கன்றுகள் வழங்கப்பட்டன.

மாலையில் பழங்குடி மக்களான குறும்பர்களின் ஆன்மிக கலை நிகழ்ச்சி நடைபெற்றது. குறும்பர்கள் 120 குலம். அவர்களில் தொட்டியர் என்ற குலத்தினர் இந்த நிகழ்ச்சியை நடத்தினர். தமிழ்நாடு குறும்பர் பேரவை நடத்திய இந்நிகழ்ச்சிக்காக தர்மபுரி மாவட்டம் பாலக்கோடு வட்டம் கரவூர் கிராமத்தில் இருந்து ஏராளமான வெண்கல சிலைகள், அரிவாள், ஈட்டி போன்றவை கொண்டுவரப்பட்டன. சித்தப்பா, கலவதப்பா, தொட்டிலி பிரம்மா, பச்சையப்பா, பர்வூரப்பா ஆகிய தெய்வங்களின் சிலைகளும் அவர்களின் வாகனங்களான எருது, குதிரை, யானை,ஆடு, நாய் போன்ற வாகனங்களின் சிலைகளும் என ஐம்பதுக்கும் மேற்பட்ட சிலைகளும் கொண்டுவரப்பட்டன. 10 பெண்கள் பாடல்களைப் பாட, 40 ஆண்கள் சேவை என்ற குரும்பாட்டுத் தோலினால் செய்யப்பட்ட இசைக்கருவியை இசைத்து ஆட, அருள் வந்து உச்சகட்டமாக தலைவில் தேங்காய் உடைக்கப்பட்டது.

சௌராஷ்டிரா மக்களும் கலை நிகழ்சிகளை நடத்தி பார்வையாளர்களை அசத்தினர்.

செவரப்பூண்டி ராஜகோபால் கவுண்டர் அவர்களின் காட்சியம்மன் நாடகக்குழுவினர் ‘கண்டன் கார்கோடகன்’ என்ற தெருக்கூத்தை நடத்தினர். இது மந்திர தந்திர வித்தைகள் நிறைந்த நாடகமாகும். கண்டன் கார்கோடகன் என்பவன் சிவபெருமானிடம் வரம் பெற்று, அந்த மமதையில் தேவர்களை துன்புறுத்தி வந்தான். இதனால் பாதிக்கப்பட்டவர்கள் சிவபெருமானிடம் முறையிட்டனர். ஆனால் சிவபெருமான், என் மனைவி மலையாள தேசம் சென்றுவிட்டாள். அங்கு பகவதியாக வீற்றிருக்கிறாள். மந்திர தந்திரங்கள் கற்றிருக்கிறாள். அவளை அழைத்து வாருங்கள் என்கிறார். அதன்படியே பகவதி அழைத்துவரப்பட. முட்டைக்குள் அடைத்து வைக்கப்பட்ட்டிருந்த கண்டன் கார்கோடகனை வதைப்பதுதான் இந்த தெருக்கூத்து.

கண்காட்சியை மத்திய மந்திரி பொன்.ராதாகிருஷ்ணன், அமைச்சார் கே.பாண்டியராஜன், நடிகர்கள் விவேக், கிட்டி என்ற ராஜா கிருஷ்னாமுர்த்தி உட்பட ஆயிரக்கணக்கானேர் குடும்பங்களுடன் வந்து கண்காட்சியை பார்வையிட்டனர்.

கண்காட்சி வளாகத்தில் தமிழ்நாடு, ஆந்திரா, தெலுங்கான உள்ளிட்ட மாநிலங்களில் உள்ள கோவில் ரதங்கள் நிறுத்தப்பட்டிருந்தன. அவற்றை பார்வையாளர்கள் பார்வையிட்டனர்.
