BJP gets ready for Amit Shah's visit to TN, key decisions to be made

BJP national president Amit Shah will be on a three-day visit to TN from May 10, during which he formualise and finalise strategies to make the party spread its roots in Tamil Nadu.

Amit Shah will interact with entrepreneurs, social activists, party functionaries and trade union leaders, said Vanathi Srinivasan, State BJP general secretary.

She that Amit Shahji’s visit was “part of his 95-day pan-India tour.” The aim of this tour is to expand and strengthen the presence of the BJP across India,” Vanathi said.

When asked if BJP was adopting backdoor route to come to power in the state, she said, “this state lacks a stable leadership. The aim of the BJP is transparent governance and development of the people of this country."

Shah was in Tamil Nadu in May last year for State Assembly election campaign. Later, he visited the late Chief Minister, J Jayalalithaa, in October when she was being treated at Apollo Hospitals.

Recently, BJP state president Tamilisai Soundararajan said, "BJP will get strengthened in the state and will come to power in direct ways."

Hitting out at the main opposition Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam for slamming the BJP for 'imposing Hindi', she said, "we care for Tamil more than DMK."
