One more person from Kerala was on Thursday arrested by police in connection with the break-in and murder of a guard at Kodanadu estate of late Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa.
Manoj alias Manoj Sami was detanied in Alapuzha in Kerala based on the interrogation of those arrested earlier in connection with the case.
He was brought and produced before Kotagiri Magistrate C Sridhar who remanded him to three days police custody.
Meanwhile, a furniture trader from Coimbatore, P.B. Sajeevan (40), who is believed to have had easy access to the Kodanadu Estate bungalow, has denied any acquaintance with K.V. Sayan, a key accused in the recent murder of a security guard and burglary in the bungalow.
Sajeevan, an AIADMK member, said he had snapped all contacts with C. Kanagaraj, the prime accused in the case, ever since Jayalalithaa had terminated his services as her driver in Kodanadu. Kanagaraj died in an accident last week.
Sayan was questioned by Nilgiris district superintendent of police Murali Rambha and police officials at a private hospital on Wednesday evening. The interrogation lasted more than an hour.
