TV actress dies in road mishap, father alleges foulplay

Television actress Rekha Sindhu was killed in a car accident early on Friday morning near Natrampalli in Vellore district in Tamil Nadu.



The 22-year-old actress’ driver had apparently “fallen asleep” while driving, reports quoted police officials as saying.



Rekha Sindhu after completing a shoot on Thursday night near Chengalpet, left in a car to Bengaluru along with her friends Rakshini (28), Kumar (20) and Abhishek (22).



Abhishek, who was behind the wheels, lost control of the vehicle and hit a wall on the roadside when they reached Nattrampalli near Vellore.



In the melee, Rekha was killed on the spot as she sustained serious injuries in her head. Three others in the car sustained serious injuries and were rushed to a nearby hospital.



Meanwhile, her father who rushed to the Government Hospital at Thiruppatur, broke out in tears after seeing his daughter's body.



Speaking to reporters, he said, "I was shocked to see that one of her hands and legs were chopped. There were safety measures in the car and when the rest survived the mishap, I wonder how my daughter alone lost her life."



He added: "I have suspicion in her death and will file a case with Nattrampalli police."



Rekha Sindhu, worked as a model in addition to TV and was a resident of the Banaswadi locality in Bengaluru. She was also seen in several advertisements.
