Senior AIADMK (Amma) leader and Lok Sabha Deputy Speaker M Thambidurai on Sunday met Governor Ch Vidyasagar Rao in Chennai, a day after opposition parties sought dismissal of the K Palaniswami government over alleged horse-trading of ruling party MLAs.
Speaking to reporters, Thambidurai said the government will complete its full term and that no one can topple it.
His assertion comes a day after DMK working president M. K. Stalin called on Vidyasagar Rao and sought the dissolution of the Assembly and CBI probe into the allegations of horse trading.
Denying need for enquiry into the alleged cash for trust vote expose, the Lok Sabha Deputy Speaker, said, "Nowehere in the country, MLAs were bribed to support any party".
"There is no need for CBI enquiry as demanded by DMK working president M K Stalin as MLA Saravanan himself has denied the charges", he said.
He said voting against the party would make the party whip strip the legislators of their Assembly membership and hence there was no scope for a bargain.
“When that is the case, giving money to MLAs can never happen,” he said.
Meanwhile, BJP state unit president Tamilisai Soundararajan said on Sunday, "on seeing brother Stalin's sudden enthusiasm after the videos were aired, I suspect the DMK's hand behind the sting operation."
She said that Stalin is in a hurry to become the chief minister of Tamil Nadu and that is why he is raising the issue in a big way, by meeting the governor and seeking the dismissal of government.
