T T V Dinakaran, AIADMK Amma’s controversial deputy general secretary and general secretary V K Sasikala’s nephew, on Monday said she has asked him to “wait and watch” for two months.
Even as senior minister D Jayakumar said they would not have any contact with Dinakaran, Dinakaran rejected Jayakumar as representing the party and its government.
Insisting that the minister was just an individual who was overstepping his authority, he said, “Only a few are saying these things out of fear. They will all realise their mistake and return to our fold. Jayakumar too will reform”.
He said this to reporters after meeting aunt Sasikala at the Parappana Agrahara jail in Bengaluru.
“Only the party general secretary has the authority to expel me. And since she is in jail now, the entire authority to run the party rests with me now”, said Dinakaran.
Dinakaran said Jayakumar seems to have assumed charge of the party on his own. “No one, except party chief Sasikala, has the powers to remove me. They (ministers) were afraid of something, and they wanted me to stay away,” he said.
“But when I returned (on bail from Delhi) after 45 days, I was surprised at the huge welcome from party cadres. I am sure all party leaders will come together seeing the sentiments of people,” he said.
