Ruckus in TN Assembly, DMK legislators evicted over 'MLAs for sale' issue

Pandemonium prevailed in Tamil Nadu Assembly today and DMK MLAs were evicted en masse after they raised the 'MLAs for cash' issue.

DMK working president M K Stalin, who is the leader of opposition in TN Assembly, spoke about a sting investigation carried out by Times Now and Moon TV that exposed that "AIADMK legislators were paid bribes by party general secretary V K Sasikala, in return for supporting Palaniswami during the trust vote held on February 18".

But the speaker Dhanapal refused permission saying the issue is in court. However, DMK MLAs raised slogans and demanded discussion.

Since they did not pay heed to repeated requests from the speaker, he warned them. Later, he ordered their en masse eviction from the Assembly.

Madurai South MLA SS Saravanan, who had defected to the rebel faction, admitted on spy camera that Sasikala camp talked about giving MLAs anything between Rs 2 crores to 6 crores.

But, he also made a revelation that not just Sasikala, former Chief Minister O Panneerselvam’s team was also willing to pay money for MLAs to switch sides.
