Tamil Nadu Chief Minister K Palaniswami has said he was having 'frequent' meetings with Prime Minister Narendra Modi to apprise him of issues faced by the state and seek assistance.
He said this in response to a DMK MLA making a mention of the 'frequent meetings' between the two leaders of late.
Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu government on Friday proposed to set up 10 "Amma petrol bunks" in different parts of the state.
Food and Civil Supplies Minister R Kamaraj informed the state Assembly that the government said it would join hands with Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) for this scheme.
Meanwhile in the Assembly, Fisheries Minister D Jayakumar said none could forget 'instances of firing' on the fishermen during the previous regimes of the party.
Responding to the special call attention motion by DMK's K P P Samy and J G Prince of (Congress) who referred to impounding of the fishermen's boats by the island nation, he said all the 135 boats and 11 fishermen in Lankan custody will be brought back home.
