BJP controlling TN govt, want to thrust one idea: Rahul Gandhi

Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi on Sunday said the opposition would unitedly "fight and defeat" the BJP and RSS's attempts to "thrust one idea" on a country that celebrates diversity.

Speaking to reporters in Chennai, he said the Bharatiya Janata Party-led government in the Centre is controlling the Tamil Nadu government.

He said he was reading Upanishads and the Bhagwad Gita to take on the RSS and BJP.

A 'political confusion' has prevailed in Tamil Nadu and the Congress workers should get their act together and seize this 'opportunity', he added.

Rahul Gandhi on Sunday called on DMK president M Karunanidhi, a longtime alliance partner of his party, at the latter's Gopalapuram residence in the city, and enquired his health.

He attacked the Modi government over its Kashmir policy, accusing it of mishandling the issue and turning the state, which was the country's "strength", into its "weakness".
