Makkal Needhi Maiam president Kamal Haasan has said, "There is a lot of work to be done for the development of the state and you have to work with me."
Speaking to his supporters at Avinashi in Tirupur district, he said, "The party cadre and supporters should work in the grass-root level to form a better Tamil Nadu. We have our targets and we have to work towards them."
He visited Periyar EV Ramasamy's house in Erode on Sunday. He alleged that the law and order in Tamil Nadu was deteriorating and asked the government to take steps for the safety of women.
Speaking to reporters, he said, "The way women are treated here currently is shameful and they are facing lot of threats and problems on the roads."
He criticised the Goods and Services Tax (GST) bill and demonetisation. Kamalwhile addressing a press conference echoed similar sentiments as Congress president Rahul Gandhi said Demonetisation should not have been implemented. "I would somehow support this (Rahul's statement)."
