Even as the shoot of Maari 2 has come to a standstill due to the ongoing film industry strike, its director Balaji Mohan has come out with an update.
He said the team has completed nearly 40% shoot and they will begin the next schedule after the ongoing strike of Tamil Film Producers Council against digital service providers.
Balaji also said that he is planning to release Maari 2 by the second of this year. Besides Dhanush, Sai Pallavi plays the female lead in the film, which also has Tovino Thomas playing the baddie.
The movie also has Varalakshmi, Kreshna, and Robo Shankar in pivotal characters.
Varalakshmi Sarath Kumar is rumoured to be playing a character with grey shades. However, she recently clarified she’s not playing a negative character.
Maari 2 marks the reunion of Dhanush and composer Yuvan Shankar Raja after 9 years. They last worked together in 2008 film Yaaradi Nee Mohini, a remake of Telugu film Aadavari Matalaku Arthale Verule.
