A stern warning was issued to a section of protesting fans of Rajinikanth from Dindigul district by the headquarters of his Makkal Mandram today.
Protesting the decision to suspend S M Thamburaj, the district secretary of the organisation, many office-bearers in the district unit have come forward to resign from their respective posts.
V N Sudhakar, a senior office-bearer of the mandram,
said today, "It is an opportunity for us to serve people following the footsteps of Rajinikanth. We should overcome the selfish deeds of a few and join hands to usher welfare among people".
"If we stand united and fulfill the ideals of Rajinikanth, it would make him happy", he said. He added, "After he was appointed as district secretary Thamburaj convened a meeting without those approved by the manram. He was asked an explanation, but he never responded. He was summoned to attend the consultative meeting in Chennai, but he never turned up".
hamburaj, a government staff took VRS to join Rajinikanth's pre-political movement and was made Secretary for Dindigul district on March 15.
However, he was suspended a few days ago. Protesting against this move, the functionaries have threatened to quit their posts.
