Don't allow files to stagnate, CM tells Collectors

Chief minister Edappadi K Palaniswami has urged district collectors to ensure that no file stagnates on their desks.

Addressing IAS officers on the second day of collectors and superintendents of police conference at the secretariat here on Tuesday, he asked them to perform better service to people.

He also had a word of praise for their handling of the drought situation in many parts of the state last year.

"You should be forever thinking about public welfare and ready to extend them a helping hand in times of law and order problems and natural disasters... you should be their servants and provide succour to their problems," he said.

"Create goodwill and confidence on government among the general public," he said.

On Monday, during his inaugural address, the Chief Minister directed District Collectors and Superintendents of Police to ensure law and order.

"Terrorism, communalism and leftist terrorism are the biggest challenges of the society. If we should confront them, we must weed out the terror outfits by strengthening the investigative arms," he said.
