Raja's fresh tirade against Periyar, Tamilisai says hers is party's stand

Even as actor Rajinikanth condemned the comments made by BJP National secretary H Raja on Periyar statue, the former Karaikudi MLA said on Wednesday that Dravidanism was forced up on Tamils to destroy the language.

Speaking to reporters at Ottanchathiram near Palani, Raja said that he has proof of Periyar calling Tamil language as ‘Saniyan’.

“Only because I am trying to bring all this truth to the limelight I have been targeted. I do not have to respond to the Facebook post which has already been taken down ,” he added.

Meanwhile, both Chief Minister Palaniswami and his deputy Panneerselvam criticized the objectionable Facebook post of Raja against Dravidian movement stalwart Periyar

Palaniswami said, "H Raja has said that his social media administrator wrote the Facebook against Periyar and those remarks are condemnable. Strict action should be taken against this administrator who incited violence."

In the meantime, BJP State president Tamilisai Soundararajan has said only her opinion should be considered as the official statement of the party in Tamilnadu.

She added: "How can we take action against Raja for the post posted by his admin. No action has been taken against him after hearing his explanation."
