Keerthana, daughter of actor-filmmaker R Parthiepan and actor Seetha, married Akshay Akkineni, son of film editor Sreekar Prasad on Thursday.
The wedding took place in Chennai according to Hindu traditions, amidst the presence of family and friends.
Chief minister Edappadi K Palaniswami, DMK working president M K Stalin, MDMK general secretary Vaiko, Superstar Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan among others greeted the couple in person.
Suriya, Jyothika, actor Vivek, Prabhudeva, music director Harris Jeyraj, actor Sibi Sathyaraj and others from the industry too attended the wedding.
Keerthana first came under spotlight when she worked with Mani Ratnam in 2002 film Kannathil Muthamittal. She played the adopted daughter of R Madhavan and Simran in the critically and commercially acclaimed film.
Ditching the red, the bride opted for an aquamarine blue saree with a golden border and teaming it with a purple blouse. The boy, instead of traditional silk shirt and dhoti, wore cream sherwani.
