Actress and All India Congress Committee national spokesperson Khushbu Sundar was admitted to a private hospital in Chennai and underwent a surgery on Friday.
According to sources, she had surgery for a small nodule in her stomach and that she has been advised bed rest for two weeks.
Sources said that the actress-turned-politician would be discharged soon from the hospital but doctors have advised her rest for a few weeks. Her family members are with her, added sources.
Recently, confirming the surgery on Twitter, she posted: "Ok friends..2 mny news abt me bng hospitalised..i nd 2 undergo a surgery n tat slated 4 the 4th..wl b rested 4 2wks..thanks 4 d concern".
The actress was last seen as host on the TV show, Nijangal, which revolved around real-life predicaments of people and providing solutions for them.
She is also producing movies and TV serials, on behalf of her own banner Avni Cinemax.
