Kamal says convicts should not rule

Kamal Haasan on Sunday night came out with a tweet, apparently hitting out at the ruling AIADMK government in Tamil Nadu.

His tweet in Tamil, if translated in English, would read: "Theft by a government is a crime. Not proving after unravelling, isn’t it a crime too?"

The Indian and Vishwaroopam actor added: "The bell has been rung. Criminals should not rule. People should turn judges. Let’s wake up."

These words of Kamal are being viewed at his comments on the recent I-T raids in the state. The recent income tax raid held at late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and AIADMK leader Jayalalithaa's property in Poes Garden, Chennai created ripples in the state.

Income tax sources claimed that large documents of shell companies were recovered from Sasikala's room.

Kamal recently tweeted: “Truly indebted to the farmers of India. Strengthen their voice” holding a white placard that read, “#Indebted2farmers’. Kamal, however, wasn’t the only one. There were many other celebrities with the same placard.

Indebted2farmers is an online campaign launched by the All India Kisan Sangharsh Coordination Committee (AIKSCC). A coalition of 184 farmer organisations, AIKSCC was formed in June this year to help secure the rights of farmers.
