Two Leaves: AIADMK factions submit final arguments to EC

The factions of the AIADMK on Monday submitted to the Election Commission their final arguments in writing laying their claim to the party's ‘Two Leaves' symbol.

The TTV Dhinakaran faction has further sought three days time to submit counter arguments in response to the documents submitted by the rival EPS-OPS faction on Monday.

The faction, led by party leader TTV Dhinakaran, filed 111 page written submission and while the group led by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister E K Palaniswami and Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam filed 82 page written submission.

The Election Commission had earlier on Wednesday reserved order in the case and asked all parties to file written submissions by November 13.

Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami and his deputy O. Panneerselvam recently said that the AIADMK faction headed by them would win the case before the Election Commission of India and get the election symbol of ‘Two Leaves’.

Palaniswami said the symbol would be given to his faction. Panneerselvam said people who obtained political identity and gained name and fame with help of Jayalalithaa and MGR, were trying to destroy the party with the help of outsiders.
