The Election Commission (EC) on Tuesday adjourned the hearing on All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) 'two leaves' symbol case till November 6.
The hearing in the AIADMK symbol case got further prolonged with lawyers for sidelined leaders T.T.V. Dinakaran and V.K. Sasikala continuing to insist on cross examination of some of those who had given allegedly fake affidavits in support of the rival side. Rajasendhoor Pandian
Former Attorney General Mukul Rohatgi, who appeared for Chief Minister E. Palaniswami, told reporters later that the Dinakaran faction did not have affidavits.
He said they were desperately attempting to delay a decision in the case so that the commission would not be able to meet the November 10 deadline set by the Madras High Court.
Following the demise of former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa in December last year, a tug of war had broken out between the two factions over which is the real AIADMK.
Meanwhile, the AIADMK's Sasikala-Dhinakaran faction leader, V Pugazhendhi, on Wednesday accused the BJP of meddling in internal issues of his party and intimidating members of his camp.
